About Wheat Beat Weekender.

Wheat Beat Weekender has just closed the doors on it's first festival in 2019. It was created to showcase local artists and internationally renowned DJs and performers. Wheat Beat is a fully licensed event running over 3 days and will be held during Summer Solstice on the 2nd to last weekend in June on land off Guilthwaite Common Lane, Upper Whiston, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The event organisers are a small group of people who are motivated to collaborate and pool their skills, expertise and resources into providing a musically themed outdoor event, for their own creative satisfaction and for others enjoyment.

The aim is to bring local people, communities and families together to celebrate Summer Solstice, music, the arts, food and the outdoors. This will be done by investment and support of emerging local and UK artists, performers and suppliers. The event is a family friendly boutique music and arts festival with a focus on supporting emerging artists, engaging communities in the arts, and allowing people to enjoy the outdoors as part of the Great British Festival experience.

The event programme consists of a wide range of art forms and activities including; live music, DJs, comedy, craft stalls, kids dance classes, games, art installations, kids area, local ales, magic, face painting, circus skills and artisan street food. We endeavour to work with local businesses wherever possible. Camping facilities are provided for attendees who hold a Weekend Ticket / Wrist Band.

The event is relatively small compared to other festivals. It is marketed as a family friendly festival, featuring a mix of musical genres and styles focused on exciting new and established artists.
